Summer 2008 Syllabus
The main objective of the course is to learn how to use Excel to solve a variety of problems in finance. The course is very ‘hands-on’ and is expected to help you develop skills that are useful in a variety of jobs in finance, accounting, insurance, real estate and management.
Spring 2008 Syllabus
The basic concepts and analytical tools of finance in both corporate finance and investments. Topics include risk and return, financial institutions, efficient markets, valuation theory, capital budgeting, portfolio theory, cost of capital, and international finance.
Summer 2007 Syllabus
The main objective of this course is to equip students with the basic technical skills needed to carry out empirical research in financial economics. To accomplish this, the course introduces students to databases and programming techniques that are frequently used in financial research.
